Things to do in Lovina

Lovina is a small village located on the north coast of Bali. Here you can still find the real Indonesia. The restaurants are delicious and very affordable. Nice to visit the less touristy side of Bali. In addition, Singaraja is not so far from Lovina (the old capital of Bali).

Dolphin spotting

If you rent a villa with Bali Bungalow Rent you can be picked up by a boat in the early morning (around 06:00). This boat will pick you up behind your villa, on the beach. These boats are real Indonesian fishing boats, which is an experience in itself. But if you then see the dolphins in the sea and also see the sun rise, this makes it a wonderful experience for young and old.

Hiking through the Mayong rice fields

This hike of about 4 kilometers is highly recommended if you are staying in Lovina. The walk takes you to the most beautiful pieces of forest with all kinds of fruit trees and beautiful rice fields. The guide tells you beautiful stories about all kinds of fruits and vegetation that you walk along during the walk. This fine and beautiful hike will end with a lunch/dinner. With a beautiful view you can enjoy delicious Indonesian dishes.

Spending a day in a Balinese spa

It is possible to have masseuses come to Bali Bungalow Rent villas. But it is also wonderful to spend a day at a spa and be pampered. Balinese massages are always a must, but each spa also has different spa packages, also called special treatments. Each spa has its own brochure with prices, packages and treatments. Local pasar (market) in Singaraja

If you want to be among the locals, it is nice to go to the local market in Singaraja in the morning. Here is a real Indonesian ‘pasar’. Here you can find different kinds of local fruits and vegetables. Also, the ‘ayam’ chickens are here for the taking. In addition to the above, you can also find delicious fresh fish. Nice to experience once in smells and colours!

Snorkeling at Menjangan

Menjangan is a protected nature reserve where you can snorkel beautifully. It’s a bit of a drive from Lovina to the boarding point for Menjangan but it’s definitely worth it. The snorkeling there is so special because you snorkel over a kind of cliff. It suddenly goes down steeply there. You see beautiful (big and small) fish there. Tip: If you have a snorkel mask we definitely recommend to bring it!
